Stephen Antonio Cardenas born May 29, 1974 (age 33)is an actor and martial artist, perhaps most noted for playing Rocky DeSantos in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series.

Cardenas was born at Langley Air Force Base, in Virginia, U.S. and is of half Mexican descent.[1] His character, Rocky, replaced Jason Lee Scott (played by Austin St. John) as the Red Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series, and he later became the Blue Ranger for Power Rangers: Zeo.

Cardenas started training in martial arts when he was about 12 years old. He appeared at the 2007 Power Morphicon convention along with other veteran cast members, including Austin St. John, Walter Jones, Johnny Yong Bosch, and Daniel Southworth.

Rocky is like the class clown of the Rangers. Good natured, spirited, and likes to have fun. He may be low on the IQ points, but Rocky's martial arts prowess and stubbornness make him an excellent fighter and asset to the team. He first met the Rangers on a trip to Angel Grove to compete in the Ninja Competition, and helped them save a baby in danger. Proving himself worthy by assisting the Rangers several times, Rocky was given the power of the Red Ranger by the departing Jason. Jason used the Sword of Light to transfer his powers to Rocky. Red Ranger's power weapon is the Power Sword, a powerful weapon with a razor sharp edge. His weapon combined with the others to form the Power Blaster. As Red Ranger, Rocky gained enhanced strength, speed, durability, and limited energy projection. When Rocky lost his powers after Rito Revolto's attack on Angel Grove, he gained new powers with the Ape Power Coin given to him by Ninjor on the Rangers' journey to the Temple of Power.

The Blue Zeo sub-crystal found its way into a volcano in Mexico, endangering the people who lived nearby by making it unstable. Upon his arrival in Mexico, Rocky asked a boy named Pablo DeSantos to lead him to the volcano. Once there, Rocky climbed in and retrieved the Blue crystal, saving the village, and bringing the Zeo Crystal one step closer to completion. After sustaining a back injury, Rocky gave his place on the team to young martial artist Justin, who became the Blue Turbo Ranger.
